Welcome to our group's wiki design file...

  • Your welcome (Frontpage) should include an introduction to your group, allocated tasks/roles and summary of what is contained in your design file

In your groups’ wiki design file you will compile all information related to your design. That is, you will create what is known as an Engineering.  Design File. Where the wiki is the tool being used to store and sort this information, enabling information to be easily accessed by all group members – remember to regularly update your wiki.

In addition to storing information related to your design project, you will also use the wiki to present your final report.

A suggested structure for your wiki is as follows:

  • FrontPage – Introduction to your group, allocated tasks/roles, and summary of what is contained in your design file
  • Final Report – one page of your wiki is used to summarise your design and outcomes (between 1000-1500 words), including:

         1.0 Introduction

         2.0 Design Specifications

         3.0 Initial concepts

         4.0 Concept selection

5.0 Final Design (including CAD drawings, Manufacturing details, calculations & Risk Assessment)

         6.0 Testing (include videos)

7.0 Performance of Device & Evaluation of Design (including a video of your teams best run time if possible)

         8.0 Conclusion

  • Other pages of your wiki maybe devoted to: electronics information, inspiration/background research, safety risk assessment, CAD drawings/sketches, manufacturing updates, pictures, testing including videos etc.The great thing about presenting your report as a wiki/website is that you can use a range of media content to communicate your design.
